NAKATA entered the cold roll forming industry in 1959 and developed many new technologies. We are particularly proud of FFX Mill, the only kind in the industry that introduced the complete common-use rolls combined with the NC system supported by our proprietary FEM technology. Company history

1908	Established in Kobe.
1959	Started the roll forming machine business.
1983	Introduction of 3D CAD system for design.
1987	Developed the FF Mill.
1988	Started to participate as exhibitor in the international tube fairs in Germany.
1993	Started development in the FEM analysis technology.
1998	FFX Mill was developed.
2002	Prize of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry was awarded for FFX Mill as development of High performance mill. ISO9001 Certificate of quality approved. 16″ FFX/RFS started to operate at a leading API pipe maker in U.S.A.
2005	Development and start-up of common-use roll technology “Roll Box” for square and rectangular hollow section tube manufactuing.
2006	Started to participate as exhibitor in the international tube fairs in China.
2007	Celebration of 100 years anniversary.
2009	Business tie-up with Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery, Inc. 7th International FF Forum (80 participants from 13 countries).
2010	Awarded the Okochi Memorial Grand Production Prize. Development of new ODF (Orbital Die Forming) mill.
2011	Establishment of joint venture company EPI CO., LTD. in Korea.
2012	Completed installation of the No.1 FF 3rd (ODF system) mill prototype. Delivered a speech at the 40th anniversary conference of The Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity.
2013	Attended the International fair “FABTECH 2013” in U.S.A.
2014	Mr. Mitsuru Nakata was appointed as CEO. Mr. Tsutomu Nakata was appointed as the Chairman of the Board. Completed installation of No. 2 FF 3rd (ODF system) mill prototype.
2015	9th International FF Forum Delivered a 2″ ODF mill line equipped with a fiber laser welding system to a pipe maker in Japan.
2016	Scheduled delivery of a 30″ ODF mill line to a pipe maker in China. ODF MILL was awarded the “Secretary of Small and medium enterprises Agency award” (in the 28th Small and Medium Enterprise Excellence New Technology / New Product Award). The Paper on the ODF mill technology was awarderd the ITA Best Paper Award.

Okochi Memorial Production Prize

Received the Okochi Memorial Production Prize (56th edition), the highest honor in the Japanese manufacturing industry for the development of the FFX Mill.
